Female - Tiefling - Bard
Melody is the D&D character that I play in the biweekly Shattered Obelisk game I am a part of. I figured I'd include her character stats here in case I forget my materials or need to share character information with other players.
Backstory
Melody was the daughter of a Tiefling prostitute mother and an unknown human man. Orphaned (or abandoned) at a young age, she learned to survive on her own moving around frequently to escape from rumors or from those who would hurt her. She became skilled in persuasion as a way of surviving, being better able to talk her way out of dangerous situations than fight. She found she had a knack for music and poetry, and decided that performing for coin rather than stealing to survive - or worse, living like her mother did - was a better way to live.
Many common folk still look down upon her for her heritage, but she hopes that by making them laugh or giving them an entertaining performance, they can see past what she is on the surface, or what she was in the past. She's devoted to fair treatment of the poor and disenfranchised. She is haunted by the voice of her infernal side which wishes to see her do unjust harm or take advantage of others. While she hopes she can someday be rid of that nagging voice within her, in the meantime she sings to drown it out.

- Spellcasting (lvl 4) - DC 15, Attack +7
- Silver Tongue - Treat rolls of 9 or lower as 10 for (Charisma) Persuasion or (Charisma) Deception checks
- Unsettling Words (bonus act) - Use Bardic Inspo die to subtract roll from targets next saving throw
- Universal Speech: 1 usage per long rest
